Why is recovery from anesthesia necessary?

 

After receiving anesthesia, the patient’s consciousness and cardio pulmonary function is unstable, so enough recovery is definitely necessary. During this stage, an anesthesia specialist and the medical staffs in charge monitors the patient 1:1 in real-time to care for the patient until the functions of central nervous system and respiratory system, and consciousness of patient safely becomes normal. 






Recovery from Anesthesia

Duration of recovery from anesthesia differs depending on each individual and the kind of surgery, but patient will usually take a rest in the recovery room for about 30 minutes to 2 hours until the patient regains consciousness. At this time, even if the consciousness returns back, the patient must not eat any food if there is no emission of gas, and the feeling of the anesthetized area will recover through the time.






Symptoms that may occur during anesthesia recovery

1.Soar Throat and Thirst
When receiving general anesthesia, a medical tube is inserted through the throat, so soreness or stuffy feeling in the throat can be felt.


2. Sleepiness
You may feel sleepiness after recovery from anesthesia so 
we recommend you to take a deep breath to prevent
atelectasis. 



3. Vomit and Disgustful Feeling

Tips on self anesthesia recovery



After surgery, many patients experience uncomfortable feeling because of physical reactions to anesthesia. In order to reduce it, we recommend you to take deep breath many times.
Deep breath will help emit anesthesia gas out from your body and also stimulates the lungs thus speeding up the lung exercise to normalize the body quicker. Also, spitting out the phlegm can also emit anesthetic gas remaining in the lungs thus shortening the recovery time.

Cautions after Facial Contouring 1.      Posture 1)      Keep your head 20~30 degrees higher than the heart to quickly reduce facial swelling. Maintain this posture for 1 week. 2)      While sleeping, lying on your side can create too much pressure and cause problems so it is best to lie straight on your back. 2.      Dietary Instructions 1)      You can start taking sips of water first 6 hours after surgery and if you feel comfortable, you can start eating rice porridge, and soft bread, tofu, boiled eggs and finely diced foods. 2)      Please avoid dairy products and foods that contain large amount of fiber, as it may cause diarrhea. 3)      It is recommended to consume soft foods and liquids for 1 week after surgery and after 1 week you can consume regular meals. 4)      For 2 weeks, please avoid oily, spicy, salty foods and for 2 months, avoid hard and chewy foods (gum, rice cake, candy, nuts, etc.) and for those who have undergone cheekbone surgery, please
