What is DA Rhinoplasty
Reoperation?
A reoperation should be taken into
consideration in if the previous operation brought side effects or if the shape
of the nose after rhinoplasty is
not satisfying.

Unsatisfied with nasal line
1 In case of a too high nose or too
low nose
Cause If
previous operation elevated the nose up too much or too little, not considering
the balance with overall face.
Correction The
height of the nasal bridge can be corrected by adjusting the thickness of
implant, and the height of the nasal tip can be corrected by cartilage
repositioning and cartilage transplant
2 Not satisfied with the side
profile
Cause If
previous operation did not go through enough consultation and rushed through
the consultation
Correction In
order to create a nose with beautiful side profile, the height of the nose
should be adjusted with connection between the nasal bridge and the nasal tip
and the shape of the nasal bridge line, and it requires detailed skill and
aesthetical sense.
3 Reoccurrence of aquiline nose
Cause If
the area in the nasal bridge starts bulging out again or the nasal tip starts
drooping again, causing a reoccurrence of aquiline nose
Correction
Create a stable, soft nasal line by adjusting the area that is bulging out
again and lifting the nasal tip firmly
Problems with implant
1 In
case of crooked nose
Cause The
nose may look crooked if the implant is leaning to the side or not identical
with the shape of dorsum
Correction
Recreate the space for implant, then adjusting the position of implant can correct this case. If
the nose was originally crooked even before the surgery, it should be corrected
with a rhinoplasty for
deviated nose.
2 In case of moving implant
Cause If
the implant was not inserted in the space between the bone and the periosteum and
was inserted right below the skin, the implant can move or be seen through

Inserting the implant below periosteum can correct this case
3 If
you can tell the surgery has been done because of occurrence of boundary along
the sides of the nose
Cause The
boundary along the sides of the nose can appear if the width of the implant
does not fit with the width of the nasal bridge or if the skin on the nose gets
thinner
Correction
Reinserting an implant that fits nasal bridge well can correct it.
If in case of thinned skin, exchange of
implant and skin reinforcement through thick skin, artificial skin, or muscle
fascia
Problems with the skin
1 If
cartilage or implant is noticeable through thinned skin
Cause The
skin gets thinned if the nasal bridge is elevated too much
Correction If
it is neglected, the skin can get thinner and in serious cases, it may make a
hole, so a reoperation should be the ASAP. It is safe to reinforce skin with
artificial skin or muscle fascia and recreate the nasal tip with only
autologous tissue
2 In
case of unturned nose due to skin shrinkage
Cause The
nose may become upturned if there was an infection after surgery or if the
epithelium around implant and the scar tissue inside the nose adhered with each
other
Correction
Recreate the space for implant, then adjusting the position of implant can correct this case. If
the nose was originally crooked even before the surgery, it should be corrected
with a rhinoplasty for
deviated nose.
3 Problems
with the inserted material
Cause The
skin may turn red and the surface of the nose can get uneven if medically
unapproved substances such as industrial silicone, paraffin, or Vaseline was
inserted, causing chronic inflammatory reaction
Correction A
reconstructive surgery for nose through removal of the material and
reinforcement of the skin with muscle fascia or skin, then recreate the shape
of the nose with autologous cartilage
Proper
time for DA Line Rhinoplasty Reoperation
1 It
is recommended to get a reoperation after the overall tissue of the nose is
settled and usually 6 months after the previous surgery.
2 If
the implant is crooked, there is an infection, or if the skin around nasal tip
or dorsum is red due to extreme thinning of the skin, a reoperation should be
done immediately.
