The primary duty of DA’s anesthesia specialist team is to support the operating surgeon for a safe surgery and to help our patients recover well after the operation.



Why are anesthesia specialists important?

First, The amount of anesthetic medicine to be injected and the type of anesthesia varies depending on the condition and medical history of patient. Our anesthesia specialists analyze the condition of patient’s whole body to decide and provide the safest and most suitable anesthetic method.


Second, Because an anesthesia specialist participates in the whole process of surgery, the operating surgeon can concentrate on only the operation itself and shorten the duration of operation. Shorter operation also means shorter recovery.



Third, Anesthesia specialists monitor our patients one-to-one in real time during all stages of operation. Moreover, they are also in charge of supplying blood and physiological saline, and controlling anesthetic ratio.

First of all, DA Plastic Surgery Clinic has 2 anesthesia specialists who are always present all year long.



Anesthesia specialists need to be present at the clinic all year long for surgeries that involve general anesthesia such as facial contouring, double jaw surgery, breast surgery, and etc. and also surgeries that involve local anesthesia such as eyelid surgery to take charge of patient’s safety from before the surgery to after the surgery until the patient wakes up from the anesthesia and regain consciousness. One of the two anesthesia specialists is a female, so those of you who feel uncomfortable with male participating can designate a female specialist to perform anesthetic stage of operation.

While an operation surgeon concentrates on the surgery, an anesthesia specialist takes responsibility over the patient’s safety and life. Third, 1:1 exclusive monitoring from before the surgery to after the surgery until patient recovers

Cautions after Facial Contouring 1.      Posture 1)      Keep your head 20~30 degrees higher than the heart to quickly reduce facial swelling. Maintain this posture for 1 week. 2)      While sleeping, lying on your side can create too much pressure and cause problems so it is best to lie straight on your back. 2.      Dietary Instructions 1)      You can start taking sips of water first 6 hours after surgery and if you feel comfortable, you can start eating rice porridge, and soft bread, tofu, boiled eggs and finely diced foods. 2)      Please avoid dairy products and foods that contain large amount of fiber, as it may cause diarrhea. 3)      It is recommended to consume soft foods and liquids for 1 week after surgery and after 1 week you can consume regular meals. 4)      For 2 weeks, please avoid oily, spicy, salty foods and for 2 months, avoid hard and chewy foods (gum, rice cake, candy, nuts, etc.) and for those who have undergone cheekbone surgery, please
